LIVE-FIRE QUALIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTRUCTORS
CALIFORNIA CCW
QUALIFICATION

Below is a recommended of the Course Of Fire, completion standards and required equipment necessary for qualification. Please be aware that there is no warm-up shooting permitted prior to the qualification unless that time has been specifically added onto your reservation with prior notice. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns or changes to your booking!
DISCLAIMER: This is NOT intended to be an instructional range session, and applicants are expected to
have received sufficient training and demonstrate proficiency in firearms safety & handling, basic marksmanship and safe drawing from concealment. If you have not received this kind of training (especially performing concealed holster draws), consider attending a CA CCW Qualification Prep Course before attempting the qualification. The instructor has the discretion to administer the live-fire qualification format according to your skills and firearms safety.
A Prep Course may be completed the same day, prior to your qualification reservation and will cover all necessary skills to complete the qualification.
*Completion of the Live-Fire Qualification, along with your RiversideCCWOnline.com Certificate of Completion will satisfy the requirements for issuing a California Non-Resident CCW. You MUST qualify with each firearm you will list on your CCW Permit. There is NO Roster for Non-Residents. No Extended Magazine Exemptions. 10 Round Magazine Capacity. No Threaded Barrels.
This is the same Course Of Fire for renewals. Renewals also require an 8-hour online course provided by RiversideCCWOnline.com
Range Liability Waiver – If required by instructor, please complete prior to your qualification at your earliest convenience.

COMPLETION STANDARDS
Applicants must successfully hit at least 5 of the 6 rounds within the 7-ring or better
* See B-27 Target example. on the B-27 target provided for each distance.
Applicants who fail any portion will be given an opportunity to retest.
ANY safety violations or failure to follow range commands deemed unacceptable by the
Instructor or Rangemaster will result in an immediate failure of the qualification with no refund!
Current Driver’s License/ID: You MUST bring your current driver’s license to enter the range and complete the qualification. Digital versions are not acceptable
• Firearm(s): MUST be in safe working order and able to comply with California firearm law in its current configuration. No more than 6 firearms per person.
• Holster: MUST be designed specifically for the purpose of concealment and MUST be of Kydex or quality leather material (subject to Instructor’s discretion)
ABSOLUTELY NO pocket holsters, belly bands, SERPA, Techna clips, Sticky holsters or anything that does not adequately cover the trigger guard and maintain retention, or deforms in a way that compromises safety. A sturdy belt designed for concealed carry is recommended. If you are unsure whether or not your belt or holster are acceptable, please ask prior to the course. We will NOT make exceptions on the range!
Ammunition: MUST be factory new ammunition. No steelcore, incendiary or armor-piercing cartridges. Self defense ammo such as hollow points are acceptable but
not required. Minimum 50 ROUNDS per firearm is the recommended amount to bring.
We do NOT have ammunition we are able to provide and insufficient ammo will constitute a failed qualification.
• Personal Protective Equipment: YOU MUST provide your own eye and hearing protection that sufficiently protects the user’s ears but does not inhibit hearing range commands.
Electronic hearing protection is strongly encouraged.
• Other: MUST have closed-toed shoes. Low cut shirts, jackets and any clothing that interferes with safe draw of the firearm is not permitted. We HIGHLY recommend a hat,
sunscreen and comfortable clothes for the heat/sun. Snacks and drinks other than water are NOT permitted on the range.
NOTE: All applicant equipment is REQUIRED to be inspected by the Instructor/Range Master prior to qualification. Instructors/Rangemaster have the final say to determine
whether or not the equipment is safe and acceptable. Please ASK prior to qual day if you are unsure about your gear!
